How Do You Say Goodbye

Posted: February 26, 2010 in Uncategorized

This poem has a little story, but mostly it’s the most shared poem I’ve ever written. We all have to say goodbye to someone or something sometimes.  This is how I say it.

How Do You Say Goodbye

How do you say goodbye,

To a special friend.

Whose friendship you thought,

Would never end.

*******

What do you say,

When you are going away,

Knowing you won’t return,

For many a day.

********

Saying “I Love You”,

Can ease the pain,

But it won’t stop the tears.

For the memories you gathered,

Have taken many years.

******

How do you say goodbye,

To a sunny day,

As you watch the night falling fast.

Just close your eyes,

And be thankful,

For today was not your last.

*******

There will always be tomorrow,

For every day gone by.

You will see the sun,

And make new friends.

So don’t ever say goodbye.
