How Would You Feel If This Happened To You?

Posted: May 18, 2012 in Uncategorized

I get confused sometimes about my feelings. They get hurt a lot. Instead of getting angry, I hold it all in until times like this when I have to let it out. So, I’m using a hypothetical situation to gain some insight on how this might feel to other people.

How would you feel?

If you cooked something for 3 hours and waited for two people to come home to eat it,  just for them to tell you that they stopped at McDonalds. And….they knew you were cooking.

Just curious about how other people might feel if this hypothetical situation may arise.

Thank you.

i am a mean person…. nothing hypothetical about this ~ i would go on strike and NOT cook for a month and i mean NOTHING.
certainly understand if the food and cupcakes hypothetically went into the sink!

  2. Thank you all for your comments. If this ever were to happen, you have all validated how I might feel and react. The hypothetical meal was dumped out in the kitchen sink on top of the hypothetical cupcakes.

I would be upset and dissapointed, that the people I was cooking for could be so inconsiderate, I would also be be very hurt that my efforts had gone unappreciated. I would try to be understanding, but would probably sulk for days at their thoughtlessness! I would be interested to know if the people concerned ever cooked themselves, thus understanding all the effort that goes into preparing a meal. Love to you Joanne xx

Hypothetically speaking… the person who cooked said dinner is under appreciated and might be more appreciated in a state such as… well, maybe Tennessee. Hypothetically speaking, of course.

  5. Well, as a Foodie, and one that loves to cook for people, I would be extremely ticked off. Unfortunately, I’d probably keep my feelings under wraps, but be less inclined to cook for them again. I don’t handle situations like that well.

I thought about this some more and depending upon past conversations, I think I would really have to sit those inconsiderate people down and ask them why they did what they did and explain to them how rude, thoughtless, inconsiderate, and hurtful their actions were. It is bad enought they ate, but at McDonalds? I could spend five minutes microwaving a plastic bowl for dinner for them if they think McDonalds is acceptable “food”. — Because the story goes they knew the person was cooking dinner. (That’s what gets me.)

I wouldn’t be able to hold it in, that’s for sure. They might find it on the lawn.
Of course, I only make dinner for everyone on the weekend these days, as I am the last one home during the week, so they don’t take it for granted and are more appreciative of it when I do make something for them :O

I don’t think I would ever feel like cooking dinner for them again. Ever.
